What Goes Into An Event?

Before anything can happen, the bots have to sign up, fill out applications, submit photos, get tax numbers, and get juried into events. This all happens online usually at the beginning of the year. Sign-up is either at a website that has multiple events to sign-up all at once, or at individual event websites. Once accepted into an event, the bots have to lay down some cash to pay for their spot in the event. Anywhere from one hundred dollars to five hundred dollars can be spent on one event spot. You can learn more about the four main events below.

Art & Craft Festivals
Art festivals and indie craft festivals are both large and small festival where a variety of handmade arts and crafts are sold. A mixture of different artists come together to set up their goods, in hopes to sell. Many festivals are outdoor and includes musical preferences, food, hands-on activities and more. These festivals are where Lee Bots started to travel and sell in 2015.

Maker Faires
Part science fair, part county fair, and part something entirely new, Maker Faire is an all-ages gathering of tech enthusiasts, crafters, educators, tinkerers, hobbyists, engineers, science clubs, authors, artists, students, and commercial exhibitors. All of these “makers” come to Maker Faire to show and some sell what they have made and to share what they have learned. The bots started to travel for these faires in 2016.

Comic Conventions
Or comic cons are events with a primary focus on comic books and comic book culture, in which comic book fans gather to meet creators, artist, experts, and each other. Commonly, comic conventions are multi-day events. They feature a wide variety of activities and panels, with a larger number of attendees participating in cosplay. The bots started to travel for these conventions in 2017.

Gallery Shows
Art shows are where the bots get shown in a gallery in either a solo exhibition, or a group exhibition with other artists. These shows are held in galleries that show the work for around a month or two. This is where the bots get to be on display and sold by the gallerist. The bots have been doing these shows since their first one in 2013.

2019

No events or shows will be scheduled for this year. Sorry, for any inconvenience, the bots are taking the year off to focus on developing their online presence and to work on a few new bot related projects. Stay up to date with the bots projects on Facebook, or Instagram.

All bot sales will be through the website this year.
